Lokomotiv M.Vody vs CSKA: 75-84
The games of CSKA in Rostov used to be a very spectacular. It was so for almost three years. Every time Lokomotiv did its best in the match ups with the Army club.
CSKA started this game with easy points from almost all the players of the starting five. Holden, Chatzivrettas, Khryapa, Songaila and Alexander put their team ahead – 17-7 with two minutes to go in the first quarter. But in 120 remaining seconds situation changed completely. Loko made a 10-3 run and started second quarter with 20-17 mark.
CSKA did not let the hosts to become a leader. But still second quarter came hard to the Army club. The team has to play without Darius Songaila because the forward received his 3rd foul in the end of the first period. Panov and Savrasenko could not replace Songaila-Alexander in a right way. So after the half time break the head coach of CSKA Dusan Ivkovic decided to put on the court all the starters except to Nikos Chatzivrettas who was replaced by Zakhar Pashutin. Both CSKA Americans did a great job and finished with double-doubles Alexander scored 25 points and made 13 rebounds, Holden stats – 12 points and 10 assists. CSKA did not manage to make the difference more than 10 points but it was not so important as Loko was not able to surprise the guests with anything in the end of the game.
