CSKA secured their first win in the Russian Superleague championship, that started today in Vladivostok, beating the local team Spartak-Primorye 89-63. Messina’s team managed to gain a comfortable advantage only in the third quarter, which allowed the coaches to test the young CSKA players immediately on the court.

Spartak Primorje vs. CSKA: 63-89 (22-25, 12-20, 9-19, 20-25)

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- I said yesterday that Spartak-Primorye is a very dangerous team and they completely proved it in the first 20 minutes of the game. Only after the half-time we managed to extend our dominance. I’m very glad that we have won, but I still believe that Spartak is dangerous, especially here – in Vladivostok.

When will Siskauskas be able to play?

- I think he will definitely play in Novosibirsk. Krasnoyarsk remains undecided. He had a really bad injure.
