CSKA won the first game at home in the 2007/08 Euroleague. Italian champion Montepaschi gave CSKA a chance to demonstrate the audience highs and lows of the current Army club play. The result of the game was unpredictable until the very last moments.

CSKA vs. Montepaschi: 74-70

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

The game was very difficult for us. Montepaschi tried to use their quickness, and they did it well. And now the difficulty in this period of the season is that not all the players understand what they should do in this very moment. That's the reason why I tried to use in the end of the game the players who have been with the team more than one year. I am grateful to the players for winning the game, and for taking decisions. Montepaschi is very strong opponent and I hope the win will become estra motivation for our players.
