The examination of Matjaz Smodis determined the break of the sesamoid bone of his left foot. This weekend the player went to the US to consult with the local surgeons. After another examination the general conclusion was to have surgery. It would be performed in the nearest two days. It is too early to make any kind of prognosis on Smodis return. The player would spend in the clinic at least 3 weeks.
'We had consulted all possible specialists, - says CSKA head coach Ettore Messina. - American surgeons are more familiar with the kind of injury, that is why we asked for their assistance almost from the very start. It would take a lot of time for Smodis to recover so we need all the other players to step up as they did for last couple of weeks'.
