President of the Russian Basketball Federaion Sergey Chernov arrived today in Barcelona on a flight from Geneva. He immediately gave an interview to our site:
Sergey Viktorovich, why did you have to fly through Geneva?
“In Geneva I took part in a meeting of the FIBA Competitions Committee. We discussed many issues, and many decisions were made. In part, I signed a contract to hold qualification games for the Women’s World Cup in Yekaterinenburg and Kazan. Further more, it was decided at the meeting not to change the current schedule of the Youth World Championships (every four years). And the World Junior Championships will be held every two years.”
What do you think of CSKA’s chances to win the semifinal game against Barcelona?
“I think that that winner of the CSKA-Barcelona game will be the favorite in the final. I would like to wish the Army team the best of luck and confidence in their abilities. In order to win, CSKA has to play their game. Let Barcelona worry. After all, they’re playing at home and don´t have a right to make mistakes.”
