CSKA won vs AXA Barcelona

20.02.2008
CSKA won the second Top-16 game. Barcelona did not manage to come back in the last quarter and finished the game with 17 points dificit - 72-55

CSKA vs. Barcelona: 72-55

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- This time we played better. We found the rhythm, played good defense. Unfortunately we had poor shooting percentage but we managed to find good opportunities to shoot. In the second half our defense forced Barcelona to go down to 10 points twice and we finished the game with 17 points difference. So now we have two wins in two important games and now we should focus on the other difficult matches of the Top-16.

Javier Pascual, AXA Barcelona head coach:

- We were a bit soft in the beginning and did not manage to stop Siskauskas penetration to the basket. But after we found a good rhythm and after the half time break we played much better. The start of the third quarter was the best time for us. Unfortunately late in the quarter we could not take advantage out of unsportsmanlike foul of Victor Khryapa. The start of the 4th quarter became the key for the game.
