Dmitry Shakulin will be an assistant for our club’s head coach Ettore Messina in the upcoming season. The contract with the 40-years old is signed for three years.

For Dmitry this agreement marks a return to CSKA, where he played for two seasons and became Russian champion twice (1997, 98). The record of player Shakulin also includes two Eurobasket medals (1993 - silver, 97 - bronze) with Russian national team, the record of coach Shakulin – U20 European Championship 2005 gold (as an assistant for Yevgeny Pashutin) and the Russian Cup-2008 with BC Khimki (as an assistant for Kestutis Kemzura).

Dmitry Shakulin, CSKA assistant coach

- On my return to CSKA I feel great joy and pride. It has been more than 10 years ago, when I won the Russian Championships in the shirt of army club, from those times club had a lot of successes in Europe, and it’s name became a well known brand. CSKA has high-quality players and coaches, and I think I approached the peak of career of assistant coach. I am very grateful for the invitation to the management of CSKA, and at the same time I want to say "thank you" for a great year to Khimki management, coach Kestutis Kemzura and all other people for excellent work and communication. Now I begin a new stage in my life, and I hope it will be full of big victories.

- I had an opportunity to know Dmitry when he was an assistant for Zhenya Pashutin in Russian U20 National Team. I appreciate his basketball knowledge, and when Zhenya left our team I thought Dmitry was the best possible choice to fill the void on a position of assistant coach in CSKA.
