Team Russia got the confident victory over Iran (71-49) in the first game of men's Olympics basketball tournament. CSKA guard JR Holden was the game's best scorer with 19 points.
Four CSKA players - Holden, Victor Keyru, Victor Khryapa and Alexei Savrasenko – started for Russia along with Andrei Kirilenko. Holden scored 8 points in the first quarter only, and eventually in 36.48 also made 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals. Khryapa's stats - 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 19.51, Savrasenko - 11 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal in 29.49, Keyru - 2 points and 1 assist in 15.06, Andrey Vorontsevich - 0 points, 1 rebound and 1 blocked shot in 4.38.
