Today in USH CSKA our team began preparing for the coming season. The first practice, in addition to coaches, was attended by seven players from the main team and two – from the youth team.
Preseason for CSKA starts with two days of training in Moscow, followed by the camp and friendly games in Italy. Head coach Ettore Messina immediately informed that the first practices will not be dedicated to basketball, and players worked on the shots after practice. Because of that players worked out under guidance of athletic coach Georgy Artemiev.
Nine players performed a variety of exercises aimed at restoring the stretch and physical shape - Andrei Vorontsevich, Alexander Kaun, Erazem Lorbek, Trajan Langdon, Terence Morris, Matjaz Smodis and Alexey Shved, plus youth team representatives Nikita Barinov and Maxim Zakharov. Smodis, who is still suffering from the injured foot, was involved only to the first part of practice.
The remaining players of Russian national team will join CSKA on Sunday. Viktor Keyru, Aleksey Savrasenko and Viktor Khryapa will depart with the team to Italy, where they will meet JR Holden. The participants of Olympic play-offs Nikos Zisis, Zoran Planinic and Ramunas Siskauskas will arrive to Italian Brunico on September 3.
