CSKA is in Siberia again

09.01.2009
Today in the evening Aeroflot’s Tupolev safely landed in Surgut airport, bringing our team to the city where it will meet Universitet-Yugra next day in a game of Russian Superleague.

The program of CSKA visit to Siberian land is shortened to minimum. After getting to destination point at 20.30 local time the players, coaches and staff accommodated in Bear Corner hotel, had a dinner and went to rest. It was decided to give up on morning practice: the wake up is planned for 11.00 and after the brunch and video session the team will travel to the arena to prepare for the game.

CSKA away roster misses injured Artem Zabelin, Terence Morris (not in a roster for Superleague) and Istanbul game hero Trajan Langdon (sixth foreigner).

“You should not underestimate the team from Surgut looking at the standings. - Ettore Messina said. - They lost a number of close games and were competitive every time, even facing the top Russian league teams. So we expect a difficult game and we know we should pay additional attention to their pick-n-roll and three-point shooting. Also we need to move the ball well as this is the key for our success”.
