Third Victory in Three Training Camp Games

Yesterday the CSKA senior and junior teams played their first games since traveling to Cacak against teams from KK Borac (Serbia and Montenegro). Both army teams won.


KK Borac - CSKA: 76-93 (31-28, 11-21, 18-22, 16-22)

CSKA: Brown (23), Holden (18), Yudin (13), Panov (11), Vyaltsev (10), Zavoruyev (10), Beznebeyev (8)


Holden, Brown, Yudin, Panov and Beznebeyev started the game for CSKA. In the first quarter the Army team wasn’t concentrated on defense and allowed several 3-pointers. As a result, the home team took an early lead. Beginning with the second quarter, CSKA picked it up on the defensive end and began to successfully attack the basket, especially from long distance. The visitors dropped in nine 3-pointers on the evening on 20 attempts.

The Army team took control of the game. In the middle of the final quarter, CSKA let the younger players take the floor. The reserves confidently finished off the game.

Today at 21:00 (Moscow time) CSKA will face Zeleznik (Serbia and Montenegro) for first place. Zeleznik defeated PAOK (Greece) 94-92 in overtime.

The CSKA youth team beat KK Borac by a score of 66-55 in a game in which the Army team trailed by 15 points at one time.
