The Euroleague Disciplinary Judge Patrick Grandjean gave a warning to our team’s forward Victor Khryapa for the incident which took place during Top 16 sixth round game Cibona – CSKA.

Upon the end of the game the referee reported in the game protocol: “2nd quarter, 1.57 remaining. T to the player N 31 Khryapa: After calling a travelling violation on him, he went from the baseline to the center line protesting in a bad way to referee Garcia. After the T-foul, the player pushed the referee Garcia with two hands slightly. Immediately, a disqualifying foul was called on him.” Just under the report Victor Khryapa wrote: “I am sorry for my behavior.”

Moreover, our club wrote the letter to Euroleague headquarters asking to take into consideration extenuating circumstances mentioned in the Article 23 of the Disciplinary Regulations:

- the player haven’t been sanctioned on a previous occasion;
- the player have been sufficiently provoked immediately before the infringement;
- the infringing party, by spontaneous remorse, have proceeded to repair or reduce the effects of infringement, in order to satisfy the offended party or confessed to disciplinary bodies immediately after the infringement.

The decision of the Disciplinary Judge referring to the Articles 34 and 35 of the Regulations reads: “Taking into account the circumstances , considering that there was no other incident, that Mr. Victor Khryapa was expulsed from the game, that he immediately left the playing area without further discussion, that he expressed his regrets, that his team was left to play without him at an early stage of the game, that Mr. Khryapa and CSKA Moscow have not been sanctioned on a previous occasion, the Disciplinary Judge finds it fair to give him a warning.”
