First step forward

The beginning of CSKA – Partizan series was marked by difficult and very important win by our team.

CSKA vs. Partizan: 56-47

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

“My team deserves consideration for what it has done today. We shot horribly but still managed to win the game in the situation when any other team could have lost. We created open shots and we have good control of the game even though Partizan never gave up and fought until the very last minute. I don’t know how to explain our bad shooting percentage. Probably the team was a bit nervous and too worried about the game result.”

Dusko Vujosevic, Partizan head coach:

“We played very bad first quarter – probably the players were too scared and they played much worse than CSKA. In the other part we played quite even game, but you should play 40, not 30 minutes. CSKA demonstrated very aggressive defense, the team has a lot of good, experienced players and, I think, this team do not need the help from referees to defeat Partizan. The criteria of contact on both sides of the floor were different today. But anyway we should have played better. I hope that both teams will have their conclusions to show better game on Thursday.”
