CSKA junior team won the bronze medals of Superleague Championship after losing the semifinal to UNICS and defeating Ural Great in consolation final.

Semifinal: UNICS-2 Kazan vs. CSKA-2: 92-80
3rd Place Game: CSKA-2 vs. Ural Great-2 Perm: 84-72

“In the first half of the semifinal game we just could not sustain the pressure of playing against host team, - CSKA-2 head coach Andrey Maltsev said. The age difference was also important – UNICS used several players from the main team. But after the break we were able to get closer to the opponents and looked respectable. The 3rd place game was a continuation of all the good we showed yesterday. Our guys dedicated themselves to the game, demonstrated very good level, Vanya Nelubov cemented the game and earned the right to be honored as the best center of the tournament. To say the truth, before the beginning of the season I thought we will take 5th or 6th place. So in fact we got further than we planned. And it wasn’t improbable to fight for the gold. So we will go to the vacations with a good mood and hopes to continue our progress in the next season.”
