CSKA Starts Regular Season

In the first game of the new season CSKA defeated Lokomotiv Rostov 78-58. More than 3000 fans came to the USC CSKA today.

Start roster of CSKA was not surprise. Holden, Brown, Khriapa, Panov and Tarlac started the game. The players of the Army team played in not usual form: dark blue color prevailed in it. American guard Marcus Brown opened the scoring. But then Lokomotiv showed very good game and concentration. The Army team players made 18 turnovers. At the 4-th minute Dusan Ivkovic asked for the first time-out. The advantage of CSKA was only 5 points: 20-15.

In the first rest the magazine «World of the Professional Sport» handed CEO of CSKA Sergey Kushchenko the premium «Best sport manager of the year 2002».

It was the close game till 33-th minute of the game: 55-53. After this moment Marcus Brown played very good, he hit 8 points on end. Players of Lokomotiv hadn’t enough strength to fight against the Army team. Young Egor Vialtsev ended the game by the effect dunk: 78-58.
