The guard of CSKA Marcus Brown answered several questions for Russian newspaper Soviet Sport:
Did you think long about the offer of CSKA? Why have you chosen it?
- We began the talks last summer, when Ivkovic came to CSKA. Time goes and I began to know J.R. Holden. It’s new experience for me, new beginning. This team has good coach and players. I didn’t think long. I just mad my decision and came here.
What can you say about your new partners? Did you know anybody before?
- Except Holden, I already knew Mirsad Turckann, Panov, Tarlac from Olympiakos. I knew four or five guys.
What can you say about the atmosphere in the team? Have you made friends with somebody?
- We are good team, we have a lot of good guys. We make relationships very easily. We are communicating with each other. Players of CSKA are nice guys. We just have to make our best for the team.
What is your opinion about the chances of CSKA in the Russian championship and in Euroleague?
- Always I think for a best for me. I think all US peoples know that I’m winner. I can say that we will win all (smiling).
Many peoples say that Ivkovic is the best coach in the Europe, what can you say about himHow do you like to work with him?
- First of all basketball must be a fun. I love to play basketball. I like to play and have a fun. Ivkovis is a good coach. He has a lot of experience. He could go to NBA, but he is here. It’s a good situation for me.
Why did you return to Europe after the season in NBA?
- I wasn’t playing too much in NBA. It is easy – to sit during the season and just receive money, buy it is not for me. Everybody wants to play. I love basketball and I wand to play. I had a opportunity to return to Europe and I’m here. I just wand to make best for my career and enjoy it.
Do you want to return to NBA?
- Many peoples asking me about it. But now I have to concentrate on this season and CSKA. I don’t want to think about NBA now. We have a long difficult season and a hard group in Euroleague. Now we have to think about it.
Last summer you were in the summer camp of Utah Jazz. What can you say about Russian forward Andrey Kirilenko?
- Andrey is a very very good guy. He is very athletic player. We had some talks, he told me about CSKA. His time is coming. I wish him the best.
You played in France, in Italy, in Greece, in Turkey, now you came to Russia. What are your first impressions about our championship? Can you compare it with European championships?
- All countries and championships have its own styles. I played only two games. May be later, after 7 or 8 games I would answer this question.
Do you divide your opponents into strong and weak?
- All opponents are the same for me. I’m trying to prepare to all games at the same way. I prefer to do so. All teams are the same for me.
What are your first impressions from Moscow and Russia?
- Traffic, unbelievable traffic. I like this city. Moscow is an international city. May be during this season I would have a chance to go to the Red square, but now I have to work, to play basketball. I like Moscow, I like you weather, it’s fine.
What did you family say when you decided to go to Russia?
- My mother was excited, she played basketball before. My father was some worry, but mother was OK, she wants the best for me.
What meal do you prefer?
- I like Russian food. I like caviar and white fish. I like food my mother cooking for me.
