Our team took sole lead in Russian Superleague delivering the first defeat to UNICS in Kazan.

UNICS Kazan vs. CSKA: 57-69

Evgeny Pashutin, CSKA Head Coach:
”Our main task was to stop UNICS’ fast breaks. To compete against them in fast game is equal to failure. I think we reached our goal, especially in second and fourth quarters. Sometimes we even sacrificed the chance to take offensive rebounds – three players were always controlling the fast breaks. Lyday and Popovic still scored 10-15 points, but they scored much more in previous games. Another important thing was to defend well against Loncar, not to allow him to get hot. Our ‘bigs’ did that with all matters even by fouling him. We controlled the rhytm of the game and thus won.”
