The team bites the bullets

“The team showed its character, will and was able to show its best basketball in this difficult game. We knew that Zalgiris is very aggressive on its home court. Besides, Kaunas team missed a lot of open shots in their loss to Prokom so we weren’t taking the opponent easy. We knew we will have to fight hard and it was obvious in the beginning of the game. Coach Butautas used small lineup, Sokolov and Kaun could not defend against their quick guards and we had to make corrections. We played with two power forwards, Khryapa and Vorontsevich, showed better defense, stopped their pick-n-rolls, did not allow easy shots. Vorontsevich helps us a lot, especially in defense, and it was obvious in the game vs Unicaja, for example.”
