CSKA vs. Khimki Moscow Region: 64-66 (-2)
Jonas Kazlauskas, CSKA head coach:
I’d like to congratulate Khimki and my friend Rimas Kurtinaitis. The game was difficult for both teams. It was played off the defense, and it is right for the games of such an importance. We had two big problems. First, our slow start. Looked like we did not understand that we have to fight for every centimeter, that nobody will give us the victory on the plate. We allowed the opponents to have big advantage over us from the very beginning. Second, Khimki had big advantage in the paint – in offense, on rebounds. We did not score much from under the basket, on the other side they attacked us too easy sometimes and found open shots off our double teams. Nuances, small details like some rebounds on our glass decided the game.
