Evaldas Kandratavicius has become our team’s new athletic coach. Lithuanian signed 1+1 contract with CSKA.

Kandratavicius, 36, worked with several Lithuanian basketball, football and handball clubs as well as with men, women and U20 men Lithuanian National Teams. He worked with women team UMMC Yekaterinburg (2003-08) and men team Dynamo Moscow (2008-11). He participates in Lithuanian National Team preparations for 2011 Eurobasket currently. Kandratavicius has a Doctor degree in Biomedical Science.

Jonas Kazlauskas, CSKA head coach:
Though I did not work with Evaldas previously, I know his experience and results well. Taking into consideration multiple recommendations I come to conclusion that he is the best possible athletic coach for us. He worked with Lithuanian National Team recently. During previous World Championship the team trailed by 15-17 points sometimes but improved during the games, made a run in the game vs Serbia for example. I talked to several players who worked with Evaldas and heard a lot of good words about him. He received the tasks already and created the individual plans for Shved, Kurbanov, Siskauskas. It is important for us what the guys will do during the summer. Also Evaldas works on program for our first camp in Klaipeda.

Evaldas Kandratavicius:
CSKA is one of the best, strongest European clubs with history and traditions. To work in a club like this is the highest estimation of my skills, that’s why I am glad that the head coach chose me. I want to use all the knowledge I collected in 11-year study and 15-year career to help the team reach the best possible results.

Georgy Artemyev received the offer to stay within club’s structure and he will take his decision soon.
