CSKA won another game in Russian Superleague and is still on the top of it. Thanks to the great shooting performance in the 4th quarter (6 threepointers) Khimki made the final minutes hard for the Army club. But Marcus Brown who was fouled twice in last 15 seconds missed only one free pointer and Khimki simply did not have enough time for the last possession.

CSKA vs Khimki: 85-83

Once again CSKA started the game with missing a 6-12 run. It took the team more than 10 minutes to even the score and to find a right way to defend its basket from Khimki guards Melvin Booker and Oskar Torres. Sergey Panov was the one who gave CSKA the lead 35-33 with 3.34 to go in the first half.

Thanks to David Andersen and J.R.Holden effort CSKA made an 11-4 run in the 3rd quarter but that was not enough to feel comfortable in the last minutes.

The best CSKA scorer was David Andersen with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Brown added 17 points, Sergey Panov – 13. The two Khimki leaders Oskar Torres and Melvin Booker scored more then a half of their team points – 23 and 20.

Next week CSKA is going to meet Dynamo from St.Petersburg. As for now this team is on the second position in the league with the 6-1 balance.

The head coach of Khimki Sergey Elevic:

Today it was the first game of the season that I satisfied. We let to score too much scored under the basket. We could win the game if we were more lucky in the final.

Today we did not have our optimal roster. Petrenko still have problems. Wolowyski did not get into his best shape yet. But now he is working with the individual physiotherapyst. Vuksanovic is ill too.

The head coach of CSKA Dusan Ivkovic:

It was really good game. We need to teech something from it. We need to play all 40 minutes till the final buzzer.

This season Khimki is absolutely covered. They have good roster with experienced players. We were good in defense for 40 minutes, but let to score to many 3-pointers.

Today Granger did not play. He is in the best shooting shape now, and could help us against the zone defense. Alexey Savrasenko did not leave the bench because of the injury. Doctors said to do not use him. We need him to recover to the important game against Ulker.

I think that we absolutely deserved this victory. i want to congratulate Khimki with very good game today.
