CSKA left the task of deciding the outcome of the game against Azovmash until the last quarter but played brilliantly routing opponents in the end.

Azovmash Mariupol vs. CSKA: 65-84

Evgeny Pashutin, CSKA Head Coach:

“The game was difficult as we expected. Azovmash is a good team, Ukrainian champion, headed by coach Rimas Girskis whom I know well and respect much. We found our rhythm from very beginning, but struggled on rebounds and defending pick-n-roll. In the third quarter we improved our perimeter defense, used more mobile five with two power forwards and broke the opponents’ offensive schemes. Ponkrashov did not play today because Langdon and Siskauskas were successful on his position.”
