CSKA vs. Khimki Moscow Region: 69-54
Evgeny Pashutin, CSKA head coach:
“We hit the target on defense again. We allowed everyone to play in the fourth quarter, though it wasn’t as successful as yesterday. Still we dominated at all points of the game. Now it is very important to recover before the Game 3 and to demonstrate the same aggressiveness, to rebound well. I was not surprised with Kaun having advantage on his opponents. Sasha is improving during the course of the season, he hold his own against Splitter and Ndong, that’s why he played well against Javtokas. In my opinion, Sasha is one of the best European centers today. As for Ponkrashov, his absence is explained by our desire to have bigger reserve in our frontline, to oppose Javtokas and Mozgov, that’s why we chose Sokolov.”
