Khimki lead the series

In the first game of 1/8 of Cup of Russia Khimki Moscow Region defeat CSKA junior team. In the end of the game the army team was flat-out in the fight with the experienced players of Superleague.


CSKA-junior vs Khimki: 76-86

There were not Vasily Karasev and Mikhail Soloviev in the starting five of Khimki. These players stayed on tribunes of USH CSKA. Our opponents became leaders in the beginning of the game: 1-5. But this moment the starting excitement of our team has calm down. Kolesnikov, Tsintsadze and Likhodey made 13-poins spurt: 14-5. In the middle of the quarter Eueny Pashutin has substituted Dmitry Peresypkin and advantage of Khimki under boards became more evident. Despite it, the army team could go to the first rest as leaders: 25-21.

The arriving of Denis Ershov has grown up Khimki advantage under boards. This center scored 5 points in a row and moved his team to a leadership: 25-27. In the middle of the quarter Eugeny Pashutin team could return advantage: 43-36.

The zone defense of Khimki expects many efforts from our team. But Sergey Elevic team could reap the fruits of their labor only in the last quarter. In the first half of it Khimki scored 13 points while CSKA scored only 2. In the middle of the quarter Valery Likhodey made fifth foul and went to the bench. Despite of tiredness, the army team continued to fight. To 2 minutes to the final buzzer they could to make spurt: 76-81. But in last minutes dunk and free throws of Daniel Soldatov and throw of Alexey Vadeev fixed the final result on the scoreboard: 76-86.

The second game will take place in Sport Hall Dynamo, on Friday, March, 5. The beginning of the game at 13:00 CET.
