Without any doubts the goal to win a road game against the older team was a very difficult one. And the goal itself put the junior team into troubles. Half of the team supposed it to be real one and fought, the other part just did not look motivated.

CSKA junior team played the first game in the junior league of Russian championship. Despite the fact the team won by 40 points against Dynamo from St.Petersburg, the head coach Andrei Maltsev seemed not to be completely satisfied with the game.

CSKA junior team would go to St.Petersburg to play three games of the first round of the junior league. The team rivals would be local Dynamo, Spartak and LenVO. We asked the head coach of the junior team Andrey Maltsev to tell us more about the teams.

CSKA young team and UNIKS-2 are the teams with the same status in the clubs. Both ranked second. But the age category of the teams is different. UNIKS-2 plays in Superleague B, so the team has more experienced players on the roster and plays more athletic basketball.

CSKA played the first game during the camp in Vatutinki that should help the team to get ready for the Youth Superleague Tournament. But in order to meet the Dynamo Moscow team of the same age the team came back for a while in Moscow. The game was held at USH CSKA.

CSKA young team won the second game of the 1/32 finals of Russian Cup against LenVO and qualified to the next stage. The team would meet UNIKS second team there. The dates of the games are November, 4th in Moscow and November, 21st in Kazan. But they are still a subject to change.

PBC CSKA signed one year contract with the best basketball school in Moscow – Trinta. According to the agreement the team Trinta Stars that plays at the major league of Russian championship would receive CSKA farm club status and would receive the name CSKA-Trinta Stars. But another team at CSKA clubs system is not the only benefit of the contract.

CSKA young team did not have a single video record of the rival’s game. LenVO had a similar problem a usual one for the start of the season. Theoretically it was LenVO advantage as they have more experienced players. Only Alexander Korchagin and Eugeny Karpeko are as young as the players of CSKA.

The market of young Russian players keeps on growing. More and more Superleague clubs decide to start to compete for the talents. We decided to discuss the question with the coach of CSKA young team Leonid Spirin who is responsible for the selection.
