Anton Ponkrashov became the first newcomer of the 2006/07 season

Absolute winner!

CSKA won the final series of Russian championship and finished the season with the perfect result - the team won all the tournaments where it took part. Besides all, it was a great present for the club president Sergei Kushchenko who celebrates his 45th birthday tonight.

Kurbanov would recover in 6 weeks

According to the medical examinations, it would take CSKA forward Nikita Kurbanov up to 6 weeks to recover after the leg injury he received in a second game of the series against Khimki.

CSKA in the Finals: closer to the title

Khimky tried to show their best in the second game of the series. But the rival misses some points in the play in order to put the real pressure on CSKA. Before the series would move to Khimki on Saturday the Army club is just one win away from the title.

CSKA in the finals: first step to the last trophy of the year

CSKA won the first game of the final series. Khimki started the game with the 5-0 run but it did not take the Army club long to even the score. By the half time the host team was leading by 12 points and then made another 8-0 run.

CSKA was honored

Tonight defensive minister of Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov gave a reception in CSKA honor. Official part included the speech of the minister who mentioned all the achievents made by the club this season, pointed out every player and coach contribution in the Euroleague Finals. And of course said some words on late Alexander Gomelsky.

In the finals!

CSKA won the 4th game of the half finals series and qualified to the finals. The rival would be determined in the 5th game of Dynamo St.Petersburg – Khimki series. The last game in Kazan came hard for the Army club. It took a lead for the first time only with a minute and a half to go.

CSKA leads in the series

CSKA won the second straight game of the half finals serie and leads 2-1 in it. CSKA led from the very first moment of the game, by the half time the team limited UNICS to 22% of teh field goals percentage. The next game, that can be decidive would take place in Kazan tomorrow.

The series moved to Tatarstan

The 3nd and the 4rd game of the half finals series between CSKA and UNICS would take place in Kazan. The Army club went to the capital of Tatarstan after two hours of practice at USH CSKA. The charter flight brought the team to the destination without any troubles.

CSKA - UNICS: 94-65

CSKA won the second game of the halffinals series. After several tough moments in the start, the Army club started to play the regular game and led by 20 points by the half time break.

CSKA - UNICS: 78-81

CSKA lost the first game of the half finals series against UNICS. In the first quarter the Army team managed to build the 10 points lead but then lost the advantage. In the tough end CSKA did not manage to save the game – 78-81.

CSKA – Lokomotiv – 3-0. In the half finals!

CSKA won the 3rd game of the series, the first one in Rostov. The arena of SK Express was full of the spectators who wanted to see the Euroleague champions. Several players like Paploukas and Savrasenko even got some support from the local fans. CSKA got the leadership from the very first minute, Loko made several attempts to get the opponent but the best achievement was ‘-3’ with 6 minutes to go to the halftime. CSKA rival in the half finals was determined a day before. UNICS won the series against Dynamo 3-0.

CSKA – Lokomotiv: 2-0. Getting better

There was no pre game show this time at USH CSKA. It was a way for our team to express our regrets and condolences to the relatives of the victims of aircraft crash near Sochi. The cheerleaders did not perform on the same reason.

CSKA - Lokomotiv. The game without emotions

The first game of the Russian championship came hard for CSKA emotionally. The team could not find enough motivation to struggle once more after a long Euroleague fight this season. But Lokomotiv who had only 8 players on the roster older than 20 years could not use the advantage. CSKA got the lead in the last quarter together with the first win in the series.
