CSKA finished the year with the win

CSKA won the first game of the Russian Cup quarterfinals – 101-70. The first quarter came hard to the club that was trying to get in shape after the Christmas break – 22-21. But then the Army club put themselves together and by the halftime break there were no question on the winner – 58-35.

CSKA is getting ready for a game against Lokomotiv

Tomorrow CSKA would play the last game this year against Lokomotiv from Rostov. The game is the first match of the Russian Cup quarterfinals. Today all the players gathered at USH CSKA for the first time after Christmas vacations.

CSKA would play against Lokomotiv

Lokomotiv became CSKA rival in the Russian Cup quarterfinals. The club from Rostov won two games series against CSK VVS (79-71, 78-80).The first game against Lokomotiv would become the last CSKA game in the year of 2005. The match would be held at USH CSKA on December, 29th. The game would start at 17.00. The entrance for it is free of charge.

CSKA won the 6th Euroleague game in a row

The Army club won the game in Siena. The game became the first official match of the head coach of the CSKA Ettore Messina against the Italian team in Italy. CSKA stayed concentrated almost all the game long. But in the 3rd quarter the gap between the teams melted away and the result was in danger. But CSKA survived. The final result is 75-66.

Waiting for the celebration

Today CSKA would play the last game in the Euroleague in the year of 2005. Montepaschi Siena is going to be the rival. There are 12 players on the roster of CSKA preparing for the game. They are forwards Sergey Panov, David Vanterpool, Nikita Kurbanov, Matjaz Smodis, centers David Andersen, Alexey Savrasenko, Anatoly Kashirov, guards Theodoros Papaloukas, Jon Robert Holden, Trajan Langdon, Zakhar Pashutin, Vasily Zavoruev.

CSKA is in the Russian Cup quarterfinals

CSKA was out of Moscow for eight hours but it was enough to qualify to the Russian cup quarterfinals by winning a second game against Soyuz. In the next stage the Army club would meet the winner of the Lokomotiv – CSK VVS series.

CSKA - Partizan: 89-58

The Army club did not experience difficulties in a game against Partizan at the 7th day of the Euroleague. CSKA managed to make 30 points gap between the teams by the end of the 3rd quarter.

CSKA prepared to the game against Partizan in a regular way. With a bit more than 24 hours to go to the game the team had a practice at the arena of USH CSKA. And today the 12 players would meet at Art Hotel after the practice in the morning...

Turkish hell is under construction

Turkish hell is under construction. In case it is full Abdi Ipekci sports hall is worth only this kind of definitions. But this time the sectors close to the roof were closed with the grey screens and it looked like the arena capacity dropped for almost a half. It is a kind of tradition for Ulker to invite school classes and to make a kind of fan contest between them at the games against CSKA. This one was not an exception...

Today in the morning CSKA went to Istanbul in order to play the sixth game in the Euroleague against Ulker. This time the team went to the desired direction by the regular flight that made the trip a bit longer then usual. The team left USH CSKA at 11.00 and came up to the hotel at 18.00 (local time)...

Nikita Shabalkin would continue the season at CSK VVS

CSKA forward Nikita Shabalkin would continue playing this season at CSK VVS. He was sent to the club on loan. In the Army club line up the Shabalkin played 12 games (9 in the Superleague, 2 in the Euroleague and one in the Russian Cup).

Third win in four days

CSKA did not face much aggressiveness from Lokomotiv side in the second half. But in the beginning of the game the rival tried to show the best – played fast and got some advantage under the boards. But it was only in the first quarter. By the half time break CSKA was leading by 17 points – 48-31.

CSKA played the first match of the 1/8 Russian Cup Finals at home. The guest team – Soyuz – tried to start in an aggressive way and even managed to get the 11-1 lead. CSKA evened the score with one minute to go in the first quarter and never looked back...

Vladimir Dyachok would likely join CSKA practices in the beginning of January

CSKA forward Vladimir Dyachok who did not play a single official game for the club due to a back injury according to the medical prognosis would be able to join CSKA practices in the beginning of January. The player had a surgery on his back November, 17th and the day before a game against Real Madrid he left the hospital.
